First Appearance Hearings

First Appearance Hearing

Video Conferencing is utilized for all First Appearance Hearings at the Paulding County Jail.

First Appearance Hearings are held every Monday at 11 a.m., Wednesday at 10 a.m., and Friday at 10 a.m. by a Magistrate judge via video conference. The presiding judge varies depending on the Magistrate Office's calendar.

The First Appearance Hearing is an initial appearance for the defendant to be advised of the criminal charges that have been filed against them and to determine if a bond will be set. This is NOT a "formal" bond hearing.

Video Conference Attendance

Inmates will not be carried outside the Paulding County Jail for their First Appearence Hearing. No one from the public will be allowed inside the secured area of the detention center to attend this hearing.

If you wish to attend or participate in the First Appearence Hearing, please be at the Paulding County Courthouse in the Magistrate Courtroom on Monday at 11 a.m., Wednesday at 10 a.m., or Friday at 10 a.m. to observe it via video conference.
